Adopt a School
The Giving Trust is launching its ‘Adopt a School’ initiative.
Many Thai schools have little or no outside funding, which can hold back their vision for educational excellence that many of us have enjoyed freely.
We are proposing that residents in Chiang Mai, either as individuals or as groups, ‘adopt’ local Thai schools.
We do not see a role in selecting the schools. We see our role as maintaining a register of schools that have been adopted. In this way, support for Thai schools in the Chiang Mai area and Province can have the widest possible scope.
As is our policy, if you do feel moved to help and adopt a school, please don’t send us your money, send it directly to the school or perhaps consider purchasing the item that you wish to donate and present that to your school.
When you do adopt a school, please let us know about it and the projects that you are supporting there, so that we can include it on our adopted schools list, which we will publish here.
In many cases these schools will not have their own website and so The Giving Trust can act as their voice.
