FERC

Foundation for the education of rural children (FERC)

The Foundation for the Education of Rural Children based in Chiang Mai, Thailand, is a non-profit organization, registered in Thailand and the United States .

Its primary objectives are:

To provide aid and support for education, medical care, finance, materials and equipment to children and their families in the North of Thailand.

To promote and support organizations that make educational contributions to the rural Thai community.
To give access to education through scholarships.

FERC’s main activities are dedicated to fund-raising. These funds are then donated to other charitable organizations and to scholarships.

FERC prefers not to directly manage projects.

Why support FERC ?

Education is their primary objective. They either sponsor students in Northern Thailand directly through our Scholarship Program, or facilitate educational activities by supplying schools in Northern Thailand with essential requirements like water installations, dormitories, toilets, kitchens, etc.

Experience is part of the 10-year old foundation. It is combined with the personal knowledge and skills of its Board members.

Low overhead costs are achieved by volunteer Board members who do not receive any payment for their services, and by eliminating unnecessary intermediaries.

They concentrate our activities in the North of Thailand, an area where education of children is one of the most effective tools in the fight against drugs, child exploitation and human trafficking.

Ethnic, political or religious backgrounds do not play a role in their choices of educational activities.

Donations to FERC, made in the USA through their affiliate agreement with Give2Asia, are tax deductible.

More information on how FERC is helping the people of Northern Thailand is available at their website
