Rejoice Charity
Rejoice Charity is a non-religious volunteer organization focused on one goal: to help individuals and communities suffering from HIV/AIDS in Northern Thailand. Over the last nine years, Rejoice has saved countless lives and helped many communities escape a cycle of poverty, prostitution and disease.
Rejoice uses simple but effective tools to make practical differences in people’s lives. We provide basic medications to individuals already suffering from AIDS, and supply nutritional supplements to protect the health of HIV+ individuals who have not developed symptoms. We provide formula milk to HIV+ mothers to prevent them from transmitting the virus to their children via breastfeeding. And we are committed to the long term; we offer education and counseling, vocational training and school scholarships to help build happy, healthy, self-sustaining communities.
With an estimated 250,000 Thai AIDS orphans, and 500,000 people infected by HIV in Northern Thailand alone, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and think: What can I do? The answer is: you can’t do everything, but you can do something. For just pennies a day, you can stop the virus in its tracks by delivering some formula milk to a HIV+ mother. Or you can put a smile on an orphan’s face as you send him or her to school for the first time.
